Romania to provide Moldova with non-refundable financial assistance worth 100 million euros

Moldova will benefit from 100 million euros on behalf of Romania as non-refundable financial assistance, in order to implement projects in key sectors of the country, for a period of 7 years.
The government today approved the starting of negotiations on the draft agreement between the two cabinets on the implementation of the programme on technical and financial assistance based on the donation on behalf of Romania.   
 
Under the Agreement, Romania and Moldova will develop the cooperation in the following sectors: energy sector, transport infrastructure, environmental protection and climate changes, public and infrastructure works, backing small- and medium-sized enterprises, independence of mass media, reform of the public administration, domestic affairs, health, education, culture and heritage, research and tourism.
 
The projects implemented will contribute to the development of the strategic partnership for Moldova’s European integration, promoting the reforms’ process, as well as improving the living standards in Moldova.
 
The concerned agreement is to be signed at a joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments, scheduled for 11 February 2022.
