20 February 2026, Chișinău – Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov met with representatives of the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), who are on an assessment mission in the Republic of Moldova.

’I was pleased to hear that Eurostat experts appreciate our country for the progress made in the field of statistics, as indicated in the latest Enlargement Report of the European Commission’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

Statistics play an essential role in the EU accession process, and the inclusion of the ‘Statistics’ chapter in the ‘Fundamentals’ cluster reflects the fact that effective public policies are built on accurate, comparable, and credible data.
