The evolution of the Transnistrian settlement process and the current situation regarding the European integration of Moldova were discussed today in Minsk at a meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Dirk Wiese, the Federal Government's coordinator for inter-societal cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership countries. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference Core Group.

Filip appreciated the constructive character of the Moldovan-German bilateral relations and thanked for the long-standing political support in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, especially during the German presidency in OSCE. At the same time, the premier expressed gratitude to Germany for supporting the resolution on the withdrawal of Russian military forces from Moldova within the UN General Assembly.

In another context, Filip pointed out that Moldova’s European integration remains a priority, and the government is firmly committed to implementing the Association Agreement with the EU. Dirk Wiese praised Moldova’s efforts in this regard and reiterated Germany's support for achieving the country’s European agenda.

The sides also exchanged views on Moldovan-German cooperation in areas such as: security and education, advocating for an open dialogue.

At the end of the meeting, Filip invited Wiese to visit Moldova. The German official will pay a visit to Moldova early next year.
