Prime Minister Ion Chicu assessed the progress made in public service modernization at an online meeting attended by representatives of the institutions involved in the process.

The director of the Electronic Government Agency, Iurie Țurcanu said that despite the emergency in the country, more than half of the actions previously requested by the premier were carried out on time.

Out of 69 initial actions, 37 have been implemented, 20 are being implemented and 12 of them have not yet been initiated. The e-Government leadership said that it would take 4-6 weeks to complete reengineering and digitizing public services. Most actions not carried out are related to the adjustment of the regulatory framework. Some decisions will be reviewed at today's meeting of the cabinet.

World Bank representative in Chisinau Constantin Rusu appreciated the effective government involvement in project implementation and noted the result and the positive dynamics in carrying out all proposed actions.

Chicu asked officials to submit weekly progress reports on project implementation.

Note. The project Modernization of government services in Moldova, funded by the World Bank, was launched in 2018 and has an implementation period of 5 years.
