Moldovan premier says investment projects ensure efficient cooperation with local authorities
Prime Minister Ion Chicu inspected the march of the works of repair of the road Harbovat-Oniscani-Dereneu, with a length of 9.9 km, at a working visit to the central Calarasi district.
Under the draft, the road structure is to be repaired completely; thus, roadmen work to put the new road cloth, arrange intersections, set metal parapets and apply the road marking.
The corridor’s rehabilitation is part of the Programme on Improvement of Local Roads and is financed by the World Bank. The overall cost of the works is of about 88 million lei.
A representative of the State Administration of Roads, Veaceslav Potop, informed the PM that, at the moment, over 65 per cent of the works had been carried out. The road’s repair will be completed in March 2021.
„We expect quality from this road, as we build a road for tens of years and for more generations. The government will continue investing in the infrastructure, in order to thus develop the economy in all regions of the country,’’ Ion Chicu said.
The mayor of the Oniscani village, Gheorghe Grecu, said that the road’s reputation would ensure the access of more than 12,000 citizens to health, education and trade centres.
„Thus is a project much expected by residents from villages. Here, we have post of rescuers and firemen, emergency centre; also we carry children to schools and kindergartens from Harbovat and Oniscani. The road will ensure traffic for all residents, especially children, as well as for the economic agents, who orient themselves to do business where the infrastructure is developed. Orchards are already planted in the region and economic operators make calculations as to investments,’’ the mayor added.
