Audit committees will be established in all institutions of public interest, including state enterprises and commercial companies with state capital. The decision was approved today by the Government, at the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization.

 

Through their activity, the committees will contribute to the application and monitoring of stricter requirements in the legal audit process of financial statements. Currently, companies do not have a regulatory framework adjusted to this chapter, and national legislation needs to be adjusted to EU norms.

 

"The draft law is part of the state policy and aims to improve the corporate governance of the mentioned entities. At the same time, this amendment refers to the application of the Community acquis", said Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba.
