The Government of Moldova has informed that on the night of 28 – 29 October 2017, it will take place the turn to winter time, so that 03:00 a.m. sets to 02:00 a.m..

The winter time changes annually on the last Saturday night to Sunday in October and is carried out in accordance with the proposal of the European Economic Commission (EEC) of the United Nations Organisation (UNO), along with the member states of the European Community (EC). The Commission's Convention was adopted for the rational use of electricity. Almost 70 countries are part of that convention, including Moldova. The goal is to benefit as much as possible from the natural daylight of the sun and reduce the use of artificial light.
