Moldova, United States to develop economic, investment relations
Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has encouraged American companies to invest in Moldova, noting that the Moldovan cabinet remained focused on the creation of a business environment friendly to internal and external investments. The urge was made at a meeting between the PM and representatives of the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA) in Washington today.
The prime minister stressed that the reforms underway in Moldova continued and the authorities were undertaking efforts needed for maintaining the financial and economic stability. Among the major goals set in this context, there are the modernization and digital transformation of the economy, development of the economic trade and digital entrepreneurship, ensuring the cyber security and enhancing the energy resilience of Moldova. At the same time, Natalia Gavrilita noted that namely the government’s commitment in the complex process of reforms was meant to ensure an attractive climate for the direct foreign investments.
„We are determined to improve the investment climate and we are looking forward to explore the potential of cooperation with the ACEBA member companies. We encourage the organization of Moldova-USA business forums, working meetings, in order to advance the commercial and economic relations, as well as other actions which will contribute to the creation of new jobs and improvement of our citizens’ living standards,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.
The representatives of the American companies showed interest in Moldova’s economic potential and made a proposal on organizing a business mission in Chisinau in next September. They also referred to projects suggested for implementation in Moldova, including for the development of the customs infrastructure, elaboration of digital solutions and enhancing the capacities in the renewable energy sector.
ACEBA is a business association from the USA, which represents a platform of dialogue between American corporate directors and political leaders from Europe. The association has such members as the companies Motorola Solutions, Pfizer, Philip Morris International, Pharma, Thermo Fisher, Visa, etc.
