Law students developed their practical skills in a national competition
30 November 2025, Chișinău - This week, the European Union National Law Competition took place, with dozens of students from five universities across the country participating. For three days, participants simulated hearings before the Court of Justice of the EU, analysed various cases applying EU law procedures, formulated legal arguments, and presented their conclusions to the jury.
First place went to the team from the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova, students from the ‘Bogdan Petriceicu-Hajdeu’ University in Cahul came in second, and the team from the ‘Ștefan cel Mare’ Academy in Chișinău took third place.
‘This is how we develop practical skills and prepare future lawyers who understand that the law must be applied correctly and for the benefit of citizens’, said Cristina Gherasimov.
The competition was organised by the Ministry of Justice, in partnership with the National Institute of Justice and the Bureau for European Integration, with the support of the ‘Support for EU Integration’ Project, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by GIZ Moldova.
