17 February 2026, Dublin – Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov met with Thomas Byrne, Ireland's Minister for European Affairs and Defence, in Dublin to discuss developments on Moldova's European agenda and priorities for this year, including during Ireland's presidency of the Council of the EU.

’We also talked about the concrete lessons we can learn from Ireland's experience, such as the policies through which Ireland maintains ties with its diaspora and creates conditions for people to return home’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov thanked the Dublin authorities for their friendship and for supporting Moldova's European path.
