The Government of the Republic of Moldova today adopted the Government Decision on updating the 2025-2029 National Programme for the Accession of Moldova to the European Union, the main strategic planning document guiding the reforms necessary for our country's accession to the EU.

The update of the Programme was necessary in order to integrate the results of the evaluation process with the European Union (bilateral screening), the recommendations of the European Commission in the 2025 Enlargement Report, as well as the new commitments undertaken by the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession negotiations process.

With this decision, the Programme is supplemented with:

- legislative measures necessary to align national legislation with EU standards;

- concrete actions to implement and strengthen institutional capacities;

- integration of roadmaps on public administration reform, the rule of law, and the functioning of democratic institutions, as well as the Reform Agenda in the 2025–2027 Growth Plan.

The updated Programme provides a unified and coherent vision for reforms, clearly sets out the responsibilities of institutions, deadlines for implementation, and mechanisms for monitoring progress, including through digital tools.

The implementation of the National Programme for the Accession will contribute to the modernisation of public administration, the improvement of services for citizens, the increase of economic competitiveness, and the approximation of the Republic of Moldova to European living standards.

The Programme was updated following an extensive consultation process with public authorities, civil society, the business community, and academia. The NPA will be updated annually.

The Government reaffirms its commitment to continue the reforms necessary for Moldova's accession to the European Union in a transparent, predictable manner and for the benefit of citizens.
