29 April Rome – Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is currently on a working visit to Italy. In Rome, she discussed with Tommaso Foti, Minister for European Affairs, at the Chigi Palace, about the progress in the EU accession negotiations, the priorities for the coming months, and Italy’s support in this regard.

‘We also discussed the large Moldovan community in Italy, which is valued for its contribution to the Italian economy and society,’ said Cristina Gherasimov.

Also in Rome, Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov had a meeting with Edmondo Cirielli, Italy’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs: ‘We have discussed the continuation of the reforms begun four years ago, the partnership and close ties between our countries in the fields of energy, economic, and social security, as well as how we can attract more Italian investment to Moldova.’

Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov thanked the Italian authorities for supporting the Republic of Moldova’s efforts to become part of the European family, as well as for the support provided to Moldovan citizens, for whom Italy has become a second home.
