Balti city to benefit from more efficient heating, warm water supply services

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a grant worth 2 million euros for the rehabilitation of the domestic hot water supply system and implementation of the system of horizontal distribution of thermal agent in the buildings of the Balti municipality.
The cabinet gave a positive notification to a draft law on the ratification of the agreement on grant between Moldova and EBRD, in order to carry out the project titled, Thermal Energy System of the Balti City (SA CET Nord) - Phase II, signed in Chisinau on 5 October 2022.
Following the implementation of the project’s Phase II, individual thermal points will be set in 166 apartment buildings and in 296 ones – the indoor building system of horizontal distribution of thermal agent and domestic hot water will be modernized. Also, the project’s sees the construction of collectors of heating and implementation of the heating distribution, modernization of the water treatment installations, in order to ensure reliable and automated operations, introduction of the digitalized system of detection of leakages of thermal agent or equipment’s defections.
The project will contribute to the improvement of the quality of services provided to residents from the Balti municipality through the reestablishment of the system of supply of domestic hot water, implementation of the indoor building horizontal distribution, ensuring the thermal comfort in buildings, through individual management of the consumption of thermal energy. At the same time, the operational costs will be optimized, the losses of thermal energy will be cut and the duration of equipment’s exploitation will increase.
