Acting Prime Minister has meeting with Ambassador of State of Israel
Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today received Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to Moldova Eliav Belotsercovsky. The officials discussed a string of up-to-date subjects on the bilateral agenda. In particular, the sides highlighted the dynamic and positive dialogue between the two countries.
The PM expressed deep gratitude to the State of Israel for the support, contribution and humanitarian assistance provided in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Subsequently, Aureliu Ciocoi congratulated the Israeli authorities on the recent accession to the United Nations Economic and Social Council for 2022-2023.
Special emphasis was put on the boosting of the Moldovan-Israeli commercial and economic relations and turning to good account the current potential. In this respect, the Israel-Moldova Chamber of Commerce was set up in 2020, with the main activity sectors being: agriculture, education, medicine, tourism, banking sector and IT.
The acting prime minister thanked fort the support of the Israel authorities, in order to open a polling station at the headquarters of Moldova’s Embassy in Tel-Aviv for the 11 July 2021 snap elections.
At the same time, the acting PM noted that Moldova declared for the re-opening of the consular office of the Embassy of Israel in Chisinau, the work of which was ceased in the summer of 2015.
