Chisinau, 31 Jan. - The quality of the public procurement process will be improved. Cabinet of Ministers approved today a new Regulation on organization and operation of the Public Procurement Agency. The need for reorganization is argued by the establishment of new tasks on the dimension of sectoral purchases and low-value purchases.

The project on reorganization of the institution sees several changes related to the structure, organization chart, the staff-limit and duties. The document also regulates the Agency's mission, fields of activity and basic functions.

It also reads the way the Agency will monitor the compliance of public procurement and low-value procurement procedures, organize training seminars and provide methodological support to contracting authorities and economic operators.

By approving this Regulation, the Ministry of Finance aims to ensure the effective, democratic, transparent and responsible legal framework in the public and sectoral procurement.
