Prime minister chairs meeting of Single Command Centre of emergency state

Prime Minister Ion Chicu today heard reports by the leaders of the public authorities and institutions involved in the management of the epidemiological situation at an online meeting of the Single Command Centre of the emergency state.  

 

Interior Minister Pavel Voicu informed that the strength of the police and carabineers was involved in the monitoring of the observance of the self-isolation regime by over 16,100 contacts and 39,700 people under supervision. The police, along with the military ensure the maintaining of the quarantine regime in the Soroca city, Stefan Voda and Glodeni towns and the settlements of Carahasani and Talmaza (Stefan Voda district). Quarantine regime today was established in the Brinzeni village, northern Edinet district.  

 

As many as 808 people have entered Moldova in the last 24 hours.

 

Interior Ministry (MAI) employees supervised the activity of 1,384 churches and monasteries on the period of the Easter holidays. No religious services were held in 108 churches. In the other churches, the services were carried out by observing the requirements of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE).

 

The police continue the patrol of settlements, especially public places, and monitor the observance of the requirements of social distancing and strict movement for essential needs.

 

Defence Minister Alexandru Pinzari informed about the involvement of the National Army’s servicemen and military technology in processes dealing with the management of the epidemiological situation on Moldova’s territory.  

 

Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu said that 199 samples had been investigated and 76 infection cases were confirmed.  All cases are with local transmission. Most cases were confirmed in the Glodeni district – 28, Chisinau – 14, districts of Cahul – 6, Falesti - 5, Dubasari and Stefan Voda with 3 cases each.   

 

As many as 11,962 samples have been investigated in Moldova so far and 2,548 infection cases were confirmed.  A number of 478 people infected with COVID-19 have been treated. Sixty seven deaths of people infected with the new coronavirus  were recorded.   

 

Ion Chicu thanked the physicians, MAI and Defence Ministry employees who are directly involved in the management of the epidemiological situation on the period of the Easter holidays, stressing their devotion and professionalism.
