22.12.2021, Râbnița - The representative of the Bureau for Policies of Reintegration, head of the Section for sectoral policies of reintegration of the country Aurelia Barbaroș, together with the secretary of state in the Ministry of Education and Research Adriana Cazacu-Țigaie and the head of the Direction for general education of the same Ministry Valentin Crudu, have visited the Theoretical Lyceum ”Evrika” in Râbnița, to inform themselves regarding the educational process and the conditions in which the institution of education functions.
During the meeting with the professors and the administration of the institution, discussions were held about the actions of the Bureau for Policies of Reintegration and the Ministry of Education and Research to ensure the good functioning of the lyceum, and the difficulties that the former have to deal with.
Particularly, the actual state of the physical infrastructure for daily activities, the conditions of organization of the educational process, the technic-material state, the situation regarding the right to free circulation, the endowment with goods and teaching materials were reviewed, additionally with other aspects which arise from the implementation of commitments stipulated in the protocol decision ”Regarding the insurance of the functioning of Moldovan schools with teaching in Latin script”, signed on November 25th 2017.
On the occasion of the winter holidays, the 29 children from the kindergarten section of the Lyceum have received sweets and warm messages of congratulation, with wishes of success, protected health and happy childhood.
A particular element of strategic importance and receiving permanent attention from the Bureau was and remains the necessity to provide the lyceum with its own premises, given that since 2004 the institution functions in a building rented from the Râbnița Metallurgic Plant, which is not fully fit to the necessities of the process of studies at this level.
The lack of proper, safe and predictable condition has led to a considerable decrease in the number of children studying at the ”Evrika” Theoretic Lyceum compared to the period before the crisis of 2004 and the pressure in that period. Especially, in the academic years 1997-1998 there were 808 children registered in the lyceum, in 2004-2005 – 557, and in the current year – only 189.
However, thanks to the consolidated efforts both from the Bureau and from the ministry, the situation is better than in the academic year 2015-2016, when there were only 130 students. Nevertheless, given the demographic potential, the best solution remains for the lyceum to be provided with its own more extended premises as there is an enhanced interest from a greater number of children in the nearby localities to attend the institution.
In this context, the representatives of Chisinau have managed to conduct a documentation visit on the field and in the study block built to accommodate the lyceum from budgetary sources assigned by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and which since 2004 has not been finalized because of the impediments intentionally created by the factors in the region.
After the the preliminary evaluation of the unused for more than 17 years study block, a series of concerns in need of thorough technical documentation emerged. Among these are the drafting of a feasibility study regarding the volume of investments and necessary works to restore, consolidate, modernize and finalize the infrastructure to the stage of commissioning and starting a quality educational process in the said premises.
This subject remains under control from Chisinau and efforts will be made to advance in the process.
