The online meeting of the working groups on social issues and humanitarian aid was held for the first time in this year

03.11.2021, Chisinau – Working groups on social issues and humanitarian aid held a joint online meeting today after a break of almost one year and nine months since the last meeting on February 11, 2020. Vasila Cusca, head of the working group, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection,
chaired the meeting on behalf of Chisinau authorities.
The dialogue of the experts from both banks of the Nistru river focused on the issue of children at risk and without parental care, which requires mobilizing efforts to ensure their proper protection, return to their permanent places of residence and (re)integration into their birth or extended families; to make sure that relevant authorities properly establish custody or guardianship on minors, and they are put into temporary foster care meeting the requirements in force.
In this context, the Moldovan side addressed the high-profile case of minor children identified in the Transnistrian region who immediately need to return to their biological mother. The Moldovan side called for quick involvement and interaction for a positive resolution of this case.
The experts from Chisinau also drew attention to the difficulties encountered regarding employees residing in the eastern districts of the country and working for employers on the right bank of the Nistru river, but who are not registered as insured persons or do not have identity documents issued by the concerned authorities of the Republic of Moldova.
The Moldovan side also highlighted aspects related to the activity of the territorial social insurance offices of the Republic of Moldova that provide assistance services to the inhabitants of the administrative-territorial units on the left bank of the Nistru river and Bender municipality, including granting allowances to families with children.
The next meeting of the working groups on social issues and humanitarian aid will take place in accordance with the ordinary working schedule.
