126,307 doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine were distributed to residents on the left bank of Nistru and Bender municipality

16.06.2021, Chisinau – Given the measures on combating the Coronavirus and immunizing the population on both banks of the Nistru river, we would like inform that the national institutions redistributed 126,307 doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine to the administration in the Transnistrian region. These doses were part of the humanitarian aid batches offered to the Republic of Moldova, but also of the acquisitions made from the budgetary resources.
The distribution of vaccines was carried out in an equitable and proportionate manner for all the administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, the Transnistrian region received the following vaccines:
AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) – 16,910 doses
Pfizer/Biontech (Comirnaty) – 12,396 doses
Sinovac – 15,000 doses
Sinopharm – 20,001 doses
Sputnik-V – 62,000 doses
Most batches of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine were provided to the Republic of Moldova free of charge by the external partners, with the financial and technical support of the European Union, the Government of Romania, the Regional Office of the World Health Organization for Europe and the Russian Federation. The Center for Centralized Public Procurement in Health purchased vaccines from the producers in People's Republic of China with the budgetary resources.
We would like to remind that the beneficiaries from the Transnistrian region, in addition to the vaccines, received multiple humanitarian lots containing personal protective equipment and high-performance medical equipment.
The Bureau for Reintegration expresses its high appreciation and gratitude to the external partners for the solidarity and support offered to the people of the Republic of Moldova. In turn, the national authorities will continue to promote strengthening, protection and restoration of the health, including of the inhabitants on the left bank of Nistru and Bender municipality, to whom quality health care services must be continuously provided alike on the entire territory of the country.
The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 started on the territory of the Republic of Moldova on 2 March 2021, and to date 556,597 people have been immunized against the infection, of which 63,231 in the Transnistrian region (info Ro: https://vaccinare.gov.md/map).
