On 8 December, 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, had a meeting with the Ambassador of Latvia to the Republic of Moldova, Uldis Mikuts. They addressed a wide range of topics from the negotiation agenda of the Transnistrian settlement, as well as the main directions of Chisinau in this regard.

The observance of fundamental human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian region, challenges of the pandemic and support measures taken by the Moldovan authorities in providing the necessary support to the population on both banks of Nistru were also discussed.

The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned the approval of a new Declaration on the "5+2" negotiation process of the Transnistrian settlement at the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council last week, as well as the intention to ensure a constant dynamic of the dialogue in all existing formats of negotiation and to make progress in fulfilling the agreed commitments of the "Berlin+ Package".

The officials agreed to maintain cooperation on various issues of common interest and expressed their readiness to provide the necessary mutual assistance.
