The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, conducted a working visit to Molovata Noua from Dubasari district.

The first visit of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration to the Security Zone localities took place at the invitation received from the City Hall of Moldova Noua, given the completion of two projects funded through the 2020 Country Reintegration Action Program (PART 2020).

At the same time, the visit provided an opportunity to assess on the spot the inhabitants’ problems, possible interventions and necessary assistance from the central public authorities.

Olga Cebotari, accompanied by the representatives of the Bureau for Reintegration, had a joint discussion with the President of Dubasari district, Grigore Filipov, the Mayor of Molovata Noua, Oleg Gazea, the Head of the State Chancellery Territorial Office, Veaceslav Anghel, and Directors of the gymnasium "Anatol Codru" and of the House of Culture.

The implementation degree of the projects funded through the PART 2020, current difficulties of the inhabitants, including those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, development of the online educational process and migration were discussed.

Another topic concerned the free movement and access ways from/to the 5 localities from the Cocieri plateau: Molovata Noua, Roghi, Cocieri, Vasilievca, Corjova, Mahala and Dubasari. The issues of access roads and ways to ensure free movement of people, goods and means of transport was addressed due to the presence of the checkpoints illegally installed by the Tiraspol representatives.

Special attention has been given to ensure access to the plateau via the ferryboat, which can be blocked in winter due to ice on the Nistru river. Respectively, it is necessary to identify alternative access routes.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Olga Cebotari, also met with the administrator of the S.E. "Bacul Molovata" (Molovata Ferry), Vitalie Gatcan. They discussed the need to reopen an additional ferry, modernize the port and transport infrastructure as to increase the transportation capacity. The Head of the State Chancellery Territorial Office, Veaceslav Anghel, who was present there, assured that he will personally involve in solving problems related to the facilities arrangement for ferry passengers.

We would like to remind that this year the number of passengers and means of transport that crossed Nistru by the ferry has increased significantly. Only in the first half of the year, these numbers increased by 12 thousand units, and the volume of transported goods increased by 23 thousand tons, reaching almost 70 thousand tons overall.

At the initiative of the Bureau for Reintegration, the ferryboat made 90 additional trips in the first half of this year, compared to the same period of the last year, and its traffic schedule was extended by a few hours.

It is also worth mentioning that starting with 2011, the City Hall of Molovata Noua benefited from funding amounting to 2.4 million lei for implementation of projects through PART. In 2020, there were 15 million lei allocated through PART for funding 42 activities in the Security Zone localities. Since PART was launched in 2011 and until 2020, there were 435 projects/activities, worth about 126.74 million lei, implemented in the communities located in the Security Zone perimeter of the Republic of Moldova.
