Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with the delegation from the Republic of Poland

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met with a delegation of politicians and civil society activists from the Republic of Poland, organized by the Warsaw Security Forum, including Paweł Kowal, Co-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and Jacek Czaputowicz, former Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

The interlocutors primarily addressed topics related to the regional security situation in the context of the new challenges generated by Russia's war against Ukraine, as well as the efforts made by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova together with foreign partners to maintain stability and security on this dimension.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian reviewed the developments marked in the Transnistrian regulation process, highlighting once again the need to achieve the objectives of demilitarization and democratization of the Transnistrian region, factors that will boost reintegration process of the country.

 

The determination of Chișinău to continue the process of peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, with the unconditional preservation of the strategic objective of European integration, was reaffirmed.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration expressed gratitude for the support offered and the increased interest in the challenges that the Republic of Moldova is facing, including the Transnistrian conflict.

 

The delegation from the Republic of Poland will be in Chișinău between March 22-23, 2023, having planned several meetings with government and civil society representatives.
