An increasingly upward dynamic is being observed concerning import-export commercial operations carried out by economic agents from the Transnistrian region registered with the Public Services Agency and which are primarily oriented towards the member states of the European Union (EU).

Thus, in 2022, the export from the region to the EU countries constituted 67,1%, a significant increase of 10,2% compared to the indicators of 2021 (56,9%) being noted.

A 4.4% advance in the share of EU goods imports in the Transnistrian region, from 45.7% in 2021 to 50.1% in 2022, can be also observed.

The five main EU countries with which more than 80% of the commercial exchanges of companies in the region take place (import and export) are: Romania, Poland, Italy, Germany and Slovakia.

The effects of the war in Ukraine, but also the suspension of the activity of the border crossing points on the central (Transnistrian) segment of the Moldova-Ukraine state border, expressly denote the modification of the logistic chains and the even more pronounced reorientation of the commercial-economic activity in the region towards the EU market, as well as the intensification of cooperation with the right bank of the Nistru River.

According to the data from the State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs and the provisions of Government Decision No. 815/2005, on 12.01.2023, 2336 economic agents from the Transnistrian region were registered at the subdivisions of the Public Services Agency, including 1850 were on provisional record.
