The Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration participated in the ceremony of commemoration of those who fell in the armed conflict on the Nistru river

The Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian participated today, March 2, in the commemoration events dedicated to the 30th anniversary from the start of the fighting on the Nistru river, paying tribute to the heroes fallen in this conflict, who bravely and dedicatedly defended the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
Together with the representatives of the local public administration and the war veterans, the Deputy Prime Minister held a moment of silence for those who fell on duty on the battlefield and laid flowers in front of the heroes from Molovata Nouă and Cocieri, Dubăsari district.
In his speech, Oleg Serebrian mentioned the special contribution of those who fought back then to defend the independence and territorial integrity of the country, emphasizing the importance of cultivating the memory of these events for today’s and tomorrow’s generations.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the devotion, sacrifice and love of country shown by war veterans and their fallen comrades on the battlefield, including on the Cocieri plateau.
At the same time, in the context of the military conflict in Ukraine, the Deputy Prime Minister came with a message of peace and solidarity: „Misunderstandings must be solved through dialogue, not by force of arms. Politicians must always be aware that the lives of millions of innocent people depend on their actions and words”.
