On September 16, members of the Joint Control Commission met in Bender to continue talks on important topics on previously agreed agenda.

A consensual decision was taken on the issue related to the two posts of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces located near Vadul-lui-Voda.

Thus, the delegations will not make a joint request to the OSCE Mission to Moldova, which showed openness to coordinate and support the planned measures.

The Commission has decided that each Party may independently request the support of the Mission in order to carry out actions involving the re-location of Peacekeeper Post No. 9 on left bank of the Nistru river. Works will last till the end of the year, when Cosnita - Balabanesti traffic artery will be unblocked and the obstacles to the movement of citizens and means of transport on this road sector will be eliminated.

Among the organizational issues discussed during the meeting were: the exclusion from the Commission of the military attaché of the Russian Federation and his assistant, because of the expiry of the mandate, but also the inclusion of the new military attaché of Ukraine.

Also, the Commission took note of 8 weekly reports of the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone. The other topics on the agenda will be discussed during the next meeting.
