Meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator and representatives of UN agencies in Moldova

10.09.2021, Chisinau – Deputy Prime Minister, Vlad Kulminski, and the team of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies had a working meeting today with the UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova, Simon Springett, and heads of the UN agencies in the Republic of Moldova: UN Women, UNICEF, UNDP, UNODC, UNHCR, UNAIDS, FAO.

 

During the dialogue they highlighted the areas of cooperation between the UN and the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the development objectives and the implemented projects of assistance, including the ones promoting confidence building measures and supporting the regulatory process. In the same time, the parties reiterated their full openness to continue and deepen the partnership and develop new joint programs.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister confirmed the close cooperation with the large UN family and reiterated the need to continue it in order to develop new projects aimed at bringing closer the two banks of the Nistru river and strengthening the capacities of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies. The proposal to support the initiative of creating a Center of Analysis and Development for the Country’s Reintegration Policies was also mentioned.

 

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, Vlad Kulminski, informed that the efforts of the current Government will be channeled towards combating personal interests and replacing them with national interests in the context of eradication of corruption and illegality factors. Strengthening cooperation between the relevant public authorities and permanent coordination of their activities by the main institution responsible for the Transnistrian issue will contribute to promoting coherent and uniform policies in the field of the country’s reintegration.
