Deputy Prime Minister Vlad Kulminski discussed with the Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Katarina Martholm Freid

Today, September 8, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Vlad Kulminski, the Head of the Reintegration Policies Bureau, Alin Gvidiani, and Ivan Turcan, main consultant, met with the Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Katarina Martholm Freid.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Sweden for the assistance offered to the Republic of Moldova focusing in particular on the positive role of the projects financed by the Kingdom of Sweden in areas like human rights, sustainable development, justice reform and development of social – humanitarian projects.

 

The officials exchanged views on the priorities of the Transnistrian settlement negotiation process given that Sweden is holding the OSCE Chairpersonship and agreed to continue the dialogue focusing on the sustainable resolution of the existing issues and on moving forward the political agenda of the regulatory process.

 

Vlad Kulminski mentioned that Chisinau expects a dialogue-based approach and streamlined work of the expert groups, including on the car issues, finding solutions to the existing challenges and improving the performance of the Registration Offices in Tiraspol and Ribnita. Any escalation of the situation, including by using other issues as potential leverage, must be avoided to not jeopardize the negotiation process.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister wished the Ambassador success in fulfilling her mandate and expressed confidence that there will be a good collaboration in the future.
