Components of the country's reintegration policies were discussed by Deputy Prime Ministers Olga Cebotari and Oleksii Reznikov

05.07.2021, Chisinau - Today, the 4th meeting of this year on the exchange of experience between the Bureau of Reintegration and the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine was held online, at the level of decision makers, with the participation of Deputy Prime Ministers responsible for these areas, Olga Cebotari and Oleksii Reznikov, accompanied by the Head of the Bureau, Alin Gvidiani, and Deputy Minister Ihor Yaremenko, respectively.
The direct communication between the deputy prime ministers was a continuation of the dialogue initiated in 2018, through the trilateral cooperation platform among the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, as well as by maintaining permanent bilateral institutional contacts.
The event served as a good opportunity for officials to get to know each other closer, to exchange information and opinions on the documents under consideration, relevant experiences and good practices, lessons learned, useful elements and perspectives for advancing solutions of specific problems.
In the context of the agenda, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister, Olga Cebotari, spoke about the governmental approaches and achievements in promoting the country's reintegration policies, the positive actions undertaken by the Moldovan authorities to support people on both banks of the Nistru River and to tackle the urgent problems faced by to them, Chisinau's vision for a comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Transnistrian issue, activities and developments related to the existing negotiation formats, progress and challenges encountered during these processes, findings and future priorities.
It was highlighted that removal of all barriers to free movement in/from localities in the Transnistrian region, protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the region, implementation of effective measures to immunize the population and protect public health, and assuring active dynamic in all negotiation formats remain priority issues for Chisinau in the current year.
As well, Olga Cebotari pointed out about the importance and contribution provided by different projects for promoting confidence-building measures to support advancement of the Transnistrian settlement process, mentioning the national and international assistance programs in this regard, and elucidating the role and impact of budget allocations distributed during the period 2011-2021 through the country’s Reintegration Activities Program on the socio-economic development of the localities within the perimeter of the Security Zone.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova reiterated the country’s openness to build cooperation on various issues of mutual interest, to continue organizing new events with the participation of government officials and reintegration institutions’ teams, and to further exchange best practices that may be reciprocally useful and beneficial.
