13.05.2021, Chisinau – The acting Deputy Prime Minister Olga Cebotari convened an online consultative meeting with the representatives of the national institutions from Chisinau which are part of the human rights working group.

The discussion focused on a wide range of topics from the negotiation agenda, related to the activity of the sectoral experts from both banks of Nistru, as well as on the current human rights issues.

The acting Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of reviving the activity of the human rights working group, in order to identify ways to address the relevant major cases, especially that the given sectoral experts did not meet for almost a year (since 22 May 2020). These issues were also stressed out because protection of the inalienable rights and freedoms of the inhabitants on both banks of Nistru is a strategic objective of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

The relevant topics of discussion will be proposed to be included in the agenda of the next meeting of the human rights working group after being agreed on the inter-institutional level.
