At the meeting of the Joint Control Commission on 29 April 2021, the Joint Military Command presented the report on the situation in the Security Zone for 21-27 April. The Commission took note of this report, ascertaining that no serious breaches of the Security Zone regime had taken place during this period.

Examination of another 19 weekly reports revealed that they did not reflect the real situation on the presence of the checkpoints abusively installed by the Transnistrian side, due to the fact that Tiraspol representatives blocked the military observers from regularly documenting the illegally installed checkpoints and fences. Thus, these incomplete reports were not approved and will be addressed later.

In order to overcome this deadlock in the Commission’s activity, the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated the task set on 24 September 2020, which obliges the Joint Military Command to communicate every case of blocking the movement of the military observers.

Another topic on the Commission's agenda referred to the checkpoint no.9/left of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces located near Vadul-lui-Voda. The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova spoke in favor of taking over the administrative functions on this checkpoint in order to improve the conditions for performing the service of the military involved. The final decision on this issue has been postponed, and discussions will continue at the next meeting.
