Given the activities and measures planned in the National Immunization Plan against COVID-19, designed to ensure the safe and efficient management of the population’s vaccination on both banks of the Nistru river, the medical institutions from the eastern districts of the country received another 1500 doses of AstraZeneca and 822 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine as a donation.
At the beginning of March, 3910 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine were transmitted to the localities from the left bank, as part of the humanitarian aid provided to the Republic of Moldova. These doses were provided gradually - 1810 doses at first, then another 600, and later the last batch of 1500 doses was picked up from the National Vaccine Depot of the National Agency for Public Health.
On 23 March, Chisinau informed Tiraspol, through the communication of the political representatives, about the availability to transmit free of charge 942 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, safely received through the COVAX platform as a humanitarian aid offered to the Republic of Moldova. These batch was also stored at the depot of the National Agency for Public Health and 822 doses were already picked up by specialists from the left bank, while the remaining 120 doses will be taken in the near future.
More doses of vaccine will be transmitted to the beneficiaries in the Transnistrian region from the donation batches offered to the Republic of Moldova in the future. Previously, humanitarian batches containing personal protective equipment (medical masks, respirators, goggles, gowns, etc.), 20 oxygen concentrators, their maintenance materials, and 100 pulse oximeters were shared with medical institutions from the Transnistrian region.
These actions reveal the solidarity and the constant concern of the Chisinau authorities to protect and improve the health of the inhabitants on both banks of Nistru, continuously expressing full openness to provide assistance in various fields related to preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to eradicate the risk factors for public health.
