Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister, Olga Cebotari, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Moldova, Stella Avallone

1 March 2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Moldova, Stella Avallone.
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the interlocutor on the occasion of the first day of spring and the "Martisor" holiday, and with warm thoughts of good cheer, wished her health and a prodigious activity.
During the discussion, the current issues on the negotiation agenda of Transnistrian settlement were addressed, in particular the state of negotiations, the evolutions after the last meeting of the political representatives, the working visit of the Special Representative of the OSCE Presidency for the Transnistrian settlement, Thomas Mayr-Harting, as well as the working visit of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ann Linde.
The dynamics in the sectoral working groups and the increase of the interactions of the health care experts, who coordinate the common anti-COVID-19 vaccination measures of the inhabitants on both banks of Nistru, were also noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that the issue of human rights, the unblocking of free movement on the left bank of Nistru and Bender municipality, and good management of the pandemic situation are the priorities to be promoted during the current year.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized the need to strengthen the professional skills of the officials in the Bureau for Reintegration and requested for assistance of the relevant authorities in Vienna to organize courses on effective negotiation and conflict resolution techniques, as well as relevant study visits to OSCE headquarters.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the high level of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Austria and thanked the Ambassador for her country's support in advancing the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, while respecting the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
