18.02.2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, had a working meeting today with the Special Representative of the Russian Federation in the Transnistrian settlement process, Vitalii Treapitan, who was accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Moldova, Oleg Vasnetsov.

 

The dialogue of the officials focused on the latest evolutions in the Transnistrian settlement process, the dialogue dynamics in the existing negotiations platforms, the implementation level of the Berlin Plus Package agreements, the views and ideas on identifying and implementing viable solutions to the current issues from the negotiation agenda.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Chisinau’s priorities for this year, such as ensuring human rights and free movement between the two banks of Nistru, protecting efficiently the population’s health during the pandemic, maintaining an active dialog in all agreed negotiations formats and convening the next "5+2" round.

 

The relaunch of the sectoral working groups was also noted. This year, four meetings already took place, including two meetings of the health experts, with the participation of the World Health Organization representatives, where potential joint actions to organize the anti-COVID-19 immunization process on both banks of the Nistru river were coordinated.

 

Given the presence at the meeting of the Heads of the Delegations of the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation in the Joint Control Commission, the problems in the Security Zone and issues related to ensuring a lucrative and productive activity of the Commission and the Joint Military Command were discussed.

 

Given the statements set out in the OSCE Ministerial Council Declaration of 4 December, 2020, the Berlin Plus Package, the priorities of the OSCE Chair-in-Office and Chisinau’s objectives, the express will was stated, as well as assurances that the necessary efforts would be made as to increase the dynamics of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue and to operatively resolve the urgent difficulties faced by the population.
