Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, with the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Ionita

02.02.2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, had a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Ionita, during which she briefly reviewed the evolutions in the Transnistrian settlement negotiation process.
The dialogue focused on the priorities of Chisinau in promoting the country's reintegration policies, work dynamics in the existing negotiating formats, prospects for stimulating the regulatory processes, positive measures to address the issues of the inhabitants on both banks of Nistru, and other issues related to the Transnistrian settlement.
The Deputy Prime Minister informed about the educational process in the Romanian teaching schools from the Transnistrian region, the implementation of the Protocol Decision of 25 November, 2017 and the existing impediments in this regard. The human rights and freedom of movement were addressed as top priorities that will remain on the agenda of all the agreed dialogue platforms until their full resolution.
Olga Cebotari expressed gratitude for the assistance projects and donations to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, offered by the Romanian authorities to the Republic of Moldova. She also mentioned the contribution to achieve the government's goal on reintegrating the country and to guarantee the observance of the fundamental rights of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova on the entire territory of the country, including in the Transnistrian region.
The Ambassador of Romania reiterated that the Bucharest authorities fully support Chisinau's efforts in the Transnistrian settlement process and are always available to intervene with the necessary input.
