Members of the Joint Control Commission convened in Bender for a regular working meeting on 17 December.

The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated its condemnation of the violations that occur in the Security Zone, with reference to the illegal presence of so-called “border guard” posts that obstruct free movement, as well as to the abductions of citizens by armed representatives of the force structures from the left bank of Nistru.

However, the intense discussions on the draft agenda, proposed by the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova, did not bring the parties to a consensus and the meeting was postponed. The reason was the destructive position of Tiraspol representatives who defy the acts of the peace-keeping operation and prevent the assessment and identification of solutions to the problems in the Security Zone. 

The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova will further insist on implementing the levers available to the Joint Control Commission as to eliminate any violations of the Security Zone regime.
