14th April 2024, Chisinau - A considerable number of civil servants from central authorities participated in yesterday's workshop titled "Structuring Country Presentations for Bilateral Screening", organized by the Bureau for European Integration.

The event, held in a hybrid format with both physical and online attendance, attracted over 500 participants, including Working Group Chairs, Secretaries, and other members and experts involved in the Working Groups responsible for negotiating chapters.

The workshop aimed to elucidate the bilateral screening process, prioritize and plan the structuring of presentations by chapters, conduct Q&A sessions, and simulate potential presentations for the bilateral sessions to be held in Brussels.

Furthermore, discussions encompassed the modalities of cooperation between representatives of the Working Groups and institutions involved in the negotiation process regarding our country's accession to the European Union.

It is notable that throughout the bilateral screening phase, the Republic of Moldova will be tasked with presenting the current state of alignment of its regulatory and institutional framework with the principles, provisions, and standards of the EU acquis. This entails evaluating existing administrative capacity and outlining plans for the transposition and comprehensive implementation of the entire acquis. Bilateral screening sessions will commence following the endorsement of the Negotiating Framework by the Moldova-EU Intergovernmental Conference.

"Close cooperation between the Working Groups and the institutions involved will be crucial for ensuring an efficient process in negotiating Moldova's accession to the European Union", emphasized Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov.
