Working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian to the Coșnița plateau

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration  Oleg Serebrian, accompanied by EU High-Level Adviser for Confidence Building Measures Kalman Mizsei and the representatives of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, paid a working visit to the settlements Cosnita, Dorotcaia and Pirita from the. Dubasari district.

 

During the discussions with the representatives of the local public administration, economic agents and residents of the district, the officials tackled subjects of major importance for the population from the region, such as: the issue of the agricultural lands placed beyond the Rabnita-Tiraspol highway, ensuring the free movement, imposing various unjustified payments at the crossing of the Tiraspol’s unauthorized control posts, the situation of education institutions, etc.  

 

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian has also visited the theoretical lyceums ”Ion Creangă” from Coșnița and ”Stefan cel Mare și Sfânt” from Grigoriopol with the premises in Doroțcaia. The official was informed about the activity of the education institutions and their needs, as well as about the projects implemented with the support of the budgetary allocations aimed at the reintegration of the country.

 

In the period 2011-2021, the visited settlements benefited from more projects financed through the Program of Activities for the Reintegration of the Country, as follows: Pîrîta – 12 projects worth 3.25 million lei, Doroțcaia – 16 projects with a budget of 4.32 million lei, Coșnița – 11 projects amounting to 3.4 million lei. 

 

Another subject of discussion was focused on the regional security situation and the exodus of refugees from Ukraine. Local mayors informed about the measures of support provided to this end. On this occasion, Oleg Serebrian visited the leisure camp Prietenia (Friendship) from Cosnita, which shelters 130 refugees from Ukraine (225 refugees in all from the neighbour country are temporarily accommodated in the Dubasari district).

                                         

The subjects addressed during the working visit were taken into consideration and jointly with the competent national authorities, but also within the existing negotiation formats, possible ways of resolving them will be sought.
