The winning teams of the ‘EU & bunicii mei’ competition found out which European capitals they will visit

24 August 2025, Chișinău – The three winning teams of the national competition ‘EU & bunicii mei’ were received at the Presidency by the President Maia Sandu. The President of state presented each team with the grand prize – a visit to a European capital:

 

- ‘Moștenitorii Europei’ from Sîngerei – trip to Paris;

- ‘EuroFetele din sat’ from Brînza, Cahul – trip to Athens;

- ‘EU4Family’ from Zăicana, Criuleni – trip to Prague.

 

‘I thank all the families for their courage to participate, their enthusiasm and the energy with which they discovered Europe together. We hope you have collected many beautiful memories this summer!’, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.

 

The ‘EU & bunicii mei’ competition took place from 19 to 21 August in three regions of the country: north (Răuțel village, Fălești district), south (Văleni village, Cahul district) and centre (Stăuceni town). The event brought together dozens of teams, each consisting of two grandparents and two grandchildren from across the country, who demonstrated their knowledge of European history and culture, creativity and team spirit.

 

Now in its first edition, the ‘EU & bunicii mei’ competition was organised by the Bureau for European Integration, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the Moldovan Intellectual Games Association and the National Youth Agency, with the support of the European Union Delegation in Chisinau, the French Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, the Greek Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, the Czech Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, UNFPA Moldova, CASMED, the Moldcell Foundation and the Medpark Foundation.
