Weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission

On February 24, 2022, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova traveled to Bender, where the weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission took place.
The representatives of Chisinau reiterated their arguments for including the subject regarding the management of activity of the rapid reaction groups of the military contingents within the Mixed Peacekeeping Forces with the elimination of their trainings from the Security Zone.
The exponents of Tiraspol opposed. A verbal decision has been made that this problem will be discussed within the Joint Military Command with the results to be presented to the Commission after one week.
Among the addressed technical issues is the confirmation of Alexandr Andreev as co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from the Russian Federation.
The Commission approved the report of the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone for the period February 16-22, 2022.
In the context of the latest regional events, the non-involvement of the military contingents of the sides from the Mixed Peacekeeping forces in uncoordinated measures has been determined, the situation in the Security Zone being under permanent monitoring.
