7 May 2025, Chișinău - Today the grand final of the national contest ‘EuroQuiz 2025’ took place. The event, held at the Palace of the Republic, brought together 41 teams from the country's districts and from Chișinău - more than 200 pupils. They demonstrated their knowledge of the history, institutions and values of the European Union, as well as the process of European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

After an intense competition, the ‘Balofaghi’ team from the ‘Axentie Doljnenco’ Theoretical High School in Vulcănești district came first, the ‘Vitejii’ team from the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ Theoretical High School in Chișinău came second and the ‘Cinci Hași’ team from the ‘Spiru Haret’ Theoretical High School in Chișinău came third.

Present at the event, the President, Maia Sandu, spoke to the participants about the benefits of European integration and that joining the European Union will open new perspectives and opportunities for the young generation: ‘Moldova is moving towards the EU because we want a better life for all, and the ones who will benefit most from this choice are the young people’.

‘EuroQuiz is more than a competition. You are all finalists in this first edition of the competition. It is a way to bring Europe closer to us, in our homes. Europe is about people, it is about solidarity, and you have worked in a spirit of solidarity - you have made a team. The European Union is a team of 27 member states, and our country wants to be part of this beautiful European family’, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.

‘By your active participation in EuroQuiz, you demonstrate that you are ready to become aware, involved and well-informed European citizens, able to contribute to the consolidation of a Republic of Moldova aligned with European values’, said the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun.

‘The knowledge acquired in EuroQuiz provides a solid basis for understanding the process of European integration and is an important step towards training a new generation of European citizens," said the Ambassador of the European Union in Chișinău, Jānis Mažeiks.

"I am convinced that Moldova's European future is in good hands’, said Swedish Minister for European Affairs Jessica Rosencrantz, who attended the award ceremony.

The winners of EuroQuiz 2025 will go on a visit to Brussels, the capital of the European Union, and all the more than 200 finalists will attend a summer camp in Romania. The coordinating teachers were also rewarded with diplomas of recognition, backpacks, educational games and book vouchers as a token of appreciation for their involvement.

The EuroQuiz 2025 competition was organised by the Bureau for European Integration, the Ministry of Education and Research, the National Agency for Youth and the Association of Intellectual Games, in partnership with the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.
