3^rd April 2024, Chisinau - The discussion between Rodica Crudu, Secretary of State for European Integration, and Lorenzo Tomassoni, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, encompassed the priority directions and progress of the Republic of Moldova in its European integration process, alongside Moldovan-Italian cooperation. The meeting, held on Tuesday, 2nd April, focused on these matters.

During the dialogue, HE Lorenzo Tomassoni commended the advancements made in implementing the reforms initiated by the Government, notably the nine recommendations outlined by the European Commission. He underscored the significance of sustainable and enduring reforms within the realm of justice.

The parties also deliberated on the pivotal role of the Bureau for European Integration in furnishing organizational and functional support to the activities of the Working Groups and public authorities engaged in the EU accession process.

Secretary of State Rodica Crudu conveyed the appreciation of the Chisinau authorities for Italy's support in Moldova's European journey. She emphasized that the Republic of Moldova anticipates the earliest possible adoption of the negotiating framework and the organization of the inaugural intergovernmental conference, which will formally inaugurate the commencement of accession negotiations.
