Experts from both banks of the Nistru river discussed issues related to the organization of circulation of international passenger trains on "Kiev-Chisinau" and "Moscow-Chisinau" routes. The Moldovan side reiterated the proposal to relaunch their unimpeded movement and guarantee the integrity of the tractive rolling stock in the Transnistrian region
Taking into account the need to reduce the burden on road infrastructure throughout the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau proposed to consider increasing the amounts of goods transported by railway using the segments in Bender and on the left bank of the Nistru river provided that the artificial and unjustified barriers to unhindered traffic are removed.
With regard to the message reiterated by the experts from Tiraspol to allow the import of petroleum products via Slobodca-Cobasna cross point, it was reminded that such imports are currently taking place via Novosavitcaia-Cuciurgan point (Government Decision nr.1232/2016) and other points agreed by the relevant authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
Regarding the various payments in the railway area, it was emphasized that the former result from the amounts established by the normative framework in force, the bilateral agreements between the Republic of Moldova and the relevant states, the infrastructure managed by the state-owned enterprise "Calea Ferata din Moldova" and technical reasons, and that it is necessary to avoid duplication of payments and to standardize them throughout the country, but also to eliminate differentiated and discriminatory approaches that create unfair difficulties.
