On September 6, the Bureau of Reintegration Policies has carried out online public consultations on Chapter XXI. “Reintegration of the Country” of the draft Action Plan of the Government of the Republic of Moldova for 2021- 2022.

Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration, Vlad Kulminski, mentioned the following priorities that will underpin the complex process of Transnistrian settlement:

- exclusion of personal interests and promotion of coherent inter-institutional policies based on the national interest;

- prevention and fight against illegal activities;

- synchronization of the country’s reintegration policies and approaches, inter-institutional collaboration of authorities involved in the process of Transnistrian settlement (Customs, Tax Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, General Inspectorate of Border Police, Ministry of Economy);

- update of national legislative and regulatory frameworks at the Parliament and Government level;

- re-establishing the activity of the Parliamentary consultation platform on Transnistrian matters in order to coordinate policies and approaches covering various aspects of the Transnistrian issue, to provide political support and clear mandate for negotiations;

- promoting sustainable development projects on both banks of the Nistru and of programs aiming to increase the attractiveness of the Republic of Moldova for inhabitants on the left bank;

- initiating political negotiation in the 5+2 format based on a clear and coordinated vision at the national level, with simultaneous discussion of topics from all those 3 packages of the agenda (socio- economical, humanitarian, political – institutional);

- maintain negotiations in all existing dialogue formats;

- use instruments of cooperation with international partners;

The representatives of the Bureau specified in the context of the above priorities that in order to achieve the country's reintegration, it is necessary for all authorities, including civil society, to be actively involved in the development and implementation of concrete action plans in different areas. Once implemented, these will ensure stability, socio-economic development and will finally contribute to building a modern, democratic, prosperous and attractive state for the inhabitants on both banks of the Nistru.

Proposals and recommendations gathered from participants will be systematized in the completed version of the chapter dedicated to the country’s reintegration objective and will be included in the final draft of the Government Action Plan.
