The political representatives in the process of negotiation for the Transnistrian settlement met in Tiraspol

Today, at the OSCE Mission headquarters in Tiraspol, a new working meeting took place with the participation of the political representatives in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement from Chisinau, Oleg Serebrian, and Tiraspol, Vitali Ignatiev. The meeting was also attended by the exponents of the participants in the “5+2” negotiation format.
During the dialogue, Chisinau addressed once more the problem of the farmers from the Dubasari district, urging to undertake all possible efforts to resolve the difficulties they face, to grant unrestricted access to the agricultural lands, including during seasonal works and exploitation of their plots of land, as well as ensuring the unconditioned and deadline-free implementation of the Protocol Decision from November 25, 2017.
A specific attention has been given to the subject of free movement, its interconnectivity with a big part of the problems faced by the citizens in their travel in the localities from the Transnistrian region being stated, as well as the necessity to eliminate existing barriers and ensuring unhindered movement of all categories of persons, as is the case on the right bank of the Nistru River and through the border crossing points.
The subject of Romanian language schools and the indispensability of the ensurance of the educational process in compliance with the working requirements, providing suitable premises and suplying necessary facilities. The example of the Theoretic Lyceum ”Lucian Blaga” from Tiraspol, which does not possess its own gym, festivities hall and canteen, was brought forward.
The support measures provided on both banks of the Dniester in order to temporarily accommodate Ukrainian refugee in placement centers and private locations were discussed. Tiraspol expressed its interest in benefiting from the forms of humanitarian assistance offered to the Republic of Moldova by the international donors.
The political representative from Tiraspol highlighted the subject of import of different merchandise categories conducted by the economic agents in the region who, following suspension of activity of the crossing points at the Moldo-Ukrainian state border, insure the introduction of the said batches through the customs points of the Republic of Moldova. Chisinau has reiterated that there are no impediments in this process, the authorization and customs clearance take place in compliance with the working national legislation, while the region is properly supplied with groceries, medicines and other consumer goods.
The chief negotiators agreed to relaunch the activity of several sectoral working groups in the near future (on economic issues, auto transport, healthcare, banking, etc.), to discuss current issues at the level of specialists. Chisinau proposed to establish new formats of technical dialogue, such as to create working groups in the field of tourism and cultural heritage.
