19th July 2024, Chisinau - The second day of the International Conference “Next Steps in the Process of Accession to the European Union” continued with three parallel workshops. Experts from the Western Balkan countries and the Republic of Moldova were joined by public officials involved in the European integration process, members of negotiating working groups, civil society representatives, government communicators, and journalists.

The workshops addressed a range of topics, including the drafting of strategic documents necessary for the EU accession process, the transposition of EU legislation, institutional capacity building, and the importance of active cooperation with civil society, media, and other relevant actors.

During the workshop held at the Parliament, the role and mission of the Legislature in conferring democratic legitimacy to all steps taken on our country's European path were highlighted. Experts from Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia shared insights on how cooperation between the executive and legislative branches operates in the field of European integration in other candidate countries.

The International Conference “Next Steps in the Process of Accession to the European Union” is organised with the support of the EU Project “Support for Structured Political Dialogue, Coordination of the Implementation of the Association Agreement, and Strengthening the Process of Harmonisation of Legislation for the Republic of Moldova”.
