Moldova's progress on first group of chapters included in new civil society monitoring report

29 July 2025, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, participated in the launch event of the second independent monitoring report on the progress of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the European Commission's recommendations on the first group of chapters - Fundamentals, organized by Expert-Grup.

 

‘Together with the state institutions, with the support of partners and with the involvement of civil society, we have managed, in just one year, to make concrete steps on the road towards the EU. We are nearing the completion of the process of analysing national legislation in relation to the European, we have the National Program for the Accession and we are ready to move to the next level in the accession negotiations process’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

 

According to the Report, important progress has been made in most areas related to the fight against electoral corruption and the promotion of fundamental human rights.

 

‘But we still have much work to do. European integration is a project of the whole society, and the changes we are making are first and foremost for the benefit of those here at home’, Cristina Gherasimov said.

 

Deputy Prime Minister thanked civil society for its expertise and partnership: ‘I invite you to continue to work as a team to lay the foundations of a European country:  just, secure, peaceful and prosperous Moldova, with a rule of law and functioning democratic institutions, good governance and quality public services’.
