The Russian prime minister congratulated his Moldovan counterpart on the taking over of the mandate of premier. At the same time, Dmitry Medvedev expressed willingness to organise a meeting of the two prime ministers, due to precede a session of the bilateral commission for economic cooperation.

For his part, Chiril Gaburici thanked his Russian counterpart for the assistance provided by Russia to evacuate Moldovans from the conflict-stricken zone of Yemen, after military confrontations had started in this state. In this context, Gaburici highly appreciated both states' cooperation in the humanitarian sector.

A subject of the discussion was related to aspects of cooperation in the energy field, as well as the economic and trade areas between the two countries. The sides expressed convergent wishes to efficiently use regulations on commercial exchanges, given that Moldova and Russia are members of the World Trade Organisation.
