3 april 2025, Chișinău - Economic agents implementing dual education programmes will be able to more easily benefit from subsidies for students’ training. A decision to this effect was approved by the cabinet today.

According to the amendments, the compensation rate for the vocational training remuneration of students in dual education has been increased from 30 per cent to 100 per cent. Also, the costs for economic units for organizing training places and those related to the organization process of dual education will be excluded. At the same time, economic units will have more time to submit applications for compensation requests, which will speed up the reimbursement process.

Through these measures, the government aims to enhance the attractiveness of dual education for both students and economic agents. "Dual education, with appropriate investments, leads to increased productivity, which means higher wages for people and greater profits for entrepreneurs," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

Presently, about 2,400 students pursue studies through dual education in 40 vocational education institutions, in partnership with about 170 economic units. This year, the subsidization fund made available to companies was increased from 10 to 15 million lei.

Also, at the today's meeting, amendments were approved to the Regulation on the financial mechanism of performance sport, in order to optimize support offered to national sports federations. According to the new provisions, national championships organized by sports federations will be scored separately for categories: seniors (U23), juniors (U20), cadets (U17) and students (U15), thus eliminating the previous provision, which awarded a single score.

The new regulations will stimulate performance and ensure proper training of sportspeople for participation in major international competitions, including the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At the same time, according to a decision approved at the cabinet meeting, schools across the country will benefit from modern IT equipment, adapted to the educational needs of students and teachers. In all, about 5,000 laptops and over 2,000 tablets will reach schools of Moldova. This action is part of the Moldova Education Reform Project (PRIM).
