The premier said the Moldovan government's basic goal was the country's European integration and opted for developing the cooperation ties. He noted that his team was fully set to ensure a dynamic pace for enforcing the provisions of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement with the EU, and relied on the European partners' support in this respect.

"Recognition of Moldova's European perspective would help mobilizing the entire society in the reform process and will motivate us to achieve radical changes that could be painful at the first stage, but absolutely necessary for sustainable development of Moldova", he said.

For his part, Hahn expressed full support on behalf of the EU for the government led by the premier. He underlined the importance to continue ensuring real progress in carrying out reforms. The commissioner confirmed the EU's willingness to strengthen support in different sectors.

The officials touched upon the measures due to be taken to boost reforms, especially, in justice, fight against corruption, ensuring stability to the financial-banking system and economic growth of Moldova. The sides stressed that the reforms were essential in the context of Moldova's European integration goal. In the context, the sides pointed out that the meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Council was an excellent occasion to set concrete actions to meet the goals on the agenda of European integration and promotion of important reforms for the country's development.
