Moldova, Belarus advocate deepening bilateral ties

Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today met with Ambassador of Belarus to Moldova Sergey Chichuk. 

 

The two officials discussed bilateral ties, noting that the dialogue between the two countries had been lately boosted. The sides tackled investment projects carried out in partnership with Belarus in Moldova, in areas such as: modernising the agricultural machinery industrial park, assembly of trolleybuses and sale of building materials.

 

Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet said that the government spoke out for continuing infrastructure projects, promoting export of Moldovan goods on the Belarusian market, as well as for attracting new investments into the economy.

 

During the meeting, Ambassador Sergey Chichuk congratulated Valeriu Strelet on behalf of Belarusian Prime Minister Andrey Kobyakov, on his appointment to the office of prime minister. The Belarusian prime minister called for deepening friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries.

 

Sergey Chichuk reiterated Belarus’ interest in developing trade and economic cooperation between Moldova and Belarus. "I am sure that the government you lead will be able to bring about change in Moldova, ensure stability and re-establish the trust of development partners," Ambassador Sergey Chichuk said.

 

Moldova and Belarus set diplomatic relations on 19 November 1992.
